Maria Papadimitriou is a visual artist who teaches at the School of Architectural Engineering at the University of Thessaly. As an artist, she is renowned for her aptitude for initiating collaborations and collective activities that directly associate art with society. Often referring to sociopolitical issues, her work is interactive and multidisciplinary by nature, with real territorial and human concerns at its core. In 1998, she founded theTemporary Autonomous Museum for All (Τ.Α.Μ.Α.), in 2012 the Suzy Tros (an artistic canteen in the Elaionas district of Athens), and in 2018 the first DoItYourself skatepark in Athens alongside Italian artist Eleonora Meoni. Since November 2016, she has been collaborating with American artist Rick Lowe on the Victoria Square Project.
