Hakan trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in England. He has played in BBC Radio 4 plays, appeared in various TV commercials, international television and film projects in Istanbul and London. In addition to his acting career, he also translate plays which have been staged in both private and subsidised public thea-tres in Turkey including Istanbul State Theatre. As a cultural operator; he is a member of The Fence theatre network and he is the coordinator of Turkish committee in Eurodram which is Europe's largest drama translation network. Hakan also serves as a board member at Eurodram network. He has given talks&classes about theatre in Turkey in various international theatre schools in-cluding NYU. He was member of prestigious Yapi Kredi Afife Jale Theatre Jury in Istanbul between 2012-2018 theatre seasons. Hakan’s been a global fellow at International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Hakan has been involved in performing arts for children since 2010 and worked as a producer, tour manager in both national and inter-national level. Hakan is the founder and director of Atta Festival, which is Turkey’s only international multi-disciplinary arts festival for children and young people that runs every year around Chil-dren’s Rights Day, 20 November. Hakan is a dual citizen; British & Turkish and lives, works in London and Istanbul.
